Strangers became friends and friends became FAMILY.

Suddenly, when what seemed to be the untimely death of the one who brought them all together, their lives felt despondent, their hope was diminished and their courage had departed. But, in an event that had never happened before and has not happened since, their brother, Jesus, rose from the dead, just as He had told them, in His own special way, He would.

In a world that was sick and sad, Jesus made the powerless, powerful; the ill, healthy; the weak, strong; and the outcasts, insiders. Each day, growing their faith in Him through their talks, walks, laughs and lessons. He showed them how to extend grace, how to correct in truth, how to love your neighbor and how to pray. When He died, He fully redeemed them and when He went back to Heaven, He commissioned them to continue His work.

So, they did.

And so, we are.

Acts Church is committed to continuing the story of Jesus, each time we gather, each time we sing, each time we act. As the family of Jesus, we are pursuing changed lives and impacted cities through Jesus' transforming power in our own hearts.

Why Yonkers?

With 200,000 residents, Yonkers’ growing diversity speaks to its blend of urban and suburban life, planted exactly between New York City and Northern Westchester.

Yonkers is in need of a fresh expression of the Gospel. It has been known for high crime, cycles of poverty, and abandoned businesses. Between the potential for economic growth, a need for integrated emotional and spiritual health, and the time for doers of justice, Yonkers is where God is leading us to make Heaven home.

We are helping to restore communities, to see each other, and heal together. We are deepening emotional health and extending justice. We are Christ-gaining and Gospel-living.

We are
ACTS CHURCH.
